The mini magnet line answered a simple question customers kept asking: "Do these come smaller?" At two inches by four inches — exactly half-scale — minis carried our most popular ribbon designs onto file cabinets, lockers, refrigerators, mailboxes, toolboxes and the back hatch of the smallest cars on the road.

The Mini Lineup

Nearly every flagship design got a mini twin:

Sold by the Pack

Minis were a pack product from day one. We sold them in 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 and 500-packs, with per-magnet pricing that fell steeply at volume — a 10-pack ran about $1.50 per magnet in the classic era, while 500-pack buyers paid roughly $0.70 each. That structure existed for one reason: minis were the ultimate handout. Deployment send-offs, awareness walks, school spirit days and county fairs all wanted something small, flat and keepable to put in every hand.

Where Minis Ended Up

Full-size ribbons lived on vehicles; minis lived everywhere else. Teachers lined them across whiteboard frames. Military spouses mailed them flat in care packages — a mini ribbon weighs almost nothing and survives any postal service on earth. Kids traded them at lunch tables. Office workers stacked them up filing-cabinet doors, one for every cause and season. More than one customer told us their refrigerator door had become a family history told in mini magnets.

The Fundraiser Workhorse

For fundraising groups, minis solved the price-point problem. Not every supporter will spend five dollars on a full-size ribbon, but almost everyone will spend a dollar or two on a mini — so awareness groups ran two-tier tables, full-size up front and a basket of minis at the cash box. High-volume, low-price products move fastest at events with foot traffic, and a 250-pack of minis fit in a shoebox. The complete two-tier table strategy is covered in our fundraising guide.

Mini Care Is Easy Care

The same rules from the care guide apply at half scale — clean the surface first, rotate occasionally, keep them off hot horizontal metal. Indoors, minis are effectively immortal; we've heard from customers whose first-year minis still hold the same spot on the same refrigerator two decades later. Pick your favorites from the full catalog — odds are there was a mini of it.

The Care Package Standard

Of everything we made, nothing traveled farther than mini magnets. Military spouses discovered early that a mini ribbon was the perfect care-package item: flat enough to slip between cookie tins, light enough to add nothing to postage, and meaningful enough to end up on barracks lockers and shop toolboxes half a world away. Family readiness groups ordered 100-packs specifically for packing parties, and we heard from soldiers who papered an entire connex door with minis sent by a hometown church. When the deployments ended, the minis came home in duffel bags — and a remarkable number of customers told us theirs are still exactly where they stuck them the week they got back.
